A new blood test using artificial intelligence (AI) may be able to predict Parkinson’s disease seven years before symptoms appear in patients. Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative condition impacting around 10 million people globally, especially older individuals.
Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that affects movement, motor skills, and coordination. It is the second-most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer’s, affecting over 10 million people worldwide. The symptoms of Parkinson’s disease can vary from person to person, but visible changes may include tremors, rigidity, bradykinesia (slowness of movement), and postural instability. The disease progresses slowly over time, and the symptoms become more severe.
